Inspired my ancestral religious processions in the Southern Italian region, Turner and D’Agostino presented an experience for audience members to engage with the natural surroundings and present a new wondering of spiritualism there. Performance was 1 hour in duration, on the banks of the Columbia River. Audience members arrived onsite by procession through the park. Support by PICA, Ford Family Foundation, Portland Parks and Rec, and our generous fundraiser supporters.

Mobile Projection Unit’s Letters to Earth, a new mapped-projection work surrounding visitors to Venice VR Expanded 2021 in the Portland Art Museum’s Fields Ballroom, poses the question, “What devotions does the Earth ask of us as its most powerful inhabitants?” Drawing upon their personal travels and archives, as well as contributions from colleagues around the world, artists Fernanda D’Agostino and Sarah Turner’s new work takes on the task of “re-enchanting” the world we too often take for granted. Performers from around the world acting as “correspondents” responded to a prompt asking them to make an embodied offering for the earth through gesture, movement, and ritual. With performances by Sarah Turner, Devin Febbroriello, & Brianna Sas.
